These 5-minute peanut butter banana overnight oats are creamy, naturally sweet, and perfect for busy mornings. Made with simple ingredients, they’re a grab-and-go breakfast that even skeptics will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (45g) rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk (any kind)
  • 2 tablespoons (32g) creamy peanut butter
  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) maple syrup or honey
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) chia seeds (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: sliced banana, extra peanut butter, cinnamon, dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Mash the banana in a mason jar or airtight container until mostly smooth with a few small lumps.
  2. Add the peanut butter on top of the mashed banana.
  3. Pour in the milk.
  4. Add the maple syrup or honey and a pinch of salt.
  5. Sprinkle in the chia seeds (if using).
  6. Stir everything together until the peanut butter is fully incorporated and the mixture is uniform.
  7. Add the rolled oats and stir until fully coated. The mixture should look like a thick soup.
  8. Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  9. In the morning, stir the oats. If too thick, add a splash of milk. Top with desired toppings and enjoy cold or microwave for 30-45 seconds for warm oats.

Notes

For best texture, use old-fashioned rolled oats. Mash the banana thoroughly for even flavor. The oats keep in the fridge for up to 5 days and can be frozen for up to 3 months. Adjust liquid ratio if adding chia seeds or protein powder.
