These Easy 5-Minute Creamy Overnight Oats are the perfect meal prep breakfast. Made with simple ingredients like rolled oats, Greek yogurt, and chia seeds, they come together in just five minutes and provide a creamy, satisfying breakfast ready to grab from the fridge all week long.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (90g) rolled oats (old-fashioned oats)
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • ½ cup (120g) plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons (20g) chia seeds
  • 12 tablespoons (15-30ml) maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup of rolled oats, 2 tablespoons of chia seeds, and a pinch of salt.
  2. In a separate bowl or large liquid measuring cup, whisk together 1 cup of milk, ½ cup of Greek yogurt, 1-2 tablespoons of maple syrup, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until evenly combined, ensuring no dry pockets remain.
  4. Divide the mixture evenly among 4 to 5 jars (8-ounce or 16-ounce), filling each about ⅔ to ¾ full.
  5. Screw the lids on tightly and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight (8-12 hours).
  6. In the morning, stir the oats, add a splash of milk if desired, and top with fresh berries, sliced banana, nut butter, or other toppings. Serve cold or let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.

Notes

Use room temperature milk and yogurt for a smoother mixture. Don’t over-sweeten; start with 1 tablespoon of maple syrup. Stir the jars halfway through refrigeration for a more uniform texture. For best results, use rolled oats (not quick or steel-cut). Store in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. Do not freeze.
