A bright and refreshing winter fruit salad featuring a mix of citrus, pomegranate seeds, and pistachios with a warm honey-cinnamon drizzle. Perfect for cozy evenings or holiday brunches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium navel oranges (or Cara Cara oranges)
  • 2 medium blood oranges
  • 1 large pink grapefruit
  • 1 medium lemon
  • 1 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1/4 cup unsalted pistachios, roughly chopped
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
  • Flaky sea salt (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Wash all citrus fruits under cool water and pat dry. Zest the lemon and one orange; set zest aside.
  2. Slice off the top and bottom of each orange and grapefruit. Cut away the peel and white pith in strips, following the curve of the fruit, to expose the flesh completely.
  3. Slice each fruit into rounds about 1/4-inch thick. Remove any seeds. Arrange slices on a serving platter, overlapping slightly and mixing colors.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, fresh lemon juice, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until smooth. Stir in reserved lemon and orange zest. Adjust sweetness or tartness to taste.
  5. Drizzle the honey mixture evenly over the sliced citrus.
  6. Sprinkle pomegranate seeds and chopped pistachios over the top. Garnish with thinly sliced mint leaves if desired.
  7. Sprinkle a tiny pinch of flaky sea salt over the entire salad. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature citrus. Toast pistachios in a dry skillet for extra flavor. If making ahead, add pistachios and mint just before serving. Leftovers keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
