A quick, allergy-friendly snack featuring crisp celery filled with creamy sunflower butter and topped with sweet raisins, perfect for kids’ lunches or a wholesome snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 68 medium celery stalks, washed and trimmed
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) sunflower butter, creamy
  • 1/4 cup (40 grams) raisins (regular or golden)
  • Optional toppings: cinnamon or chia seeds

Instructions

  1. Wash and trim the celery: Rinse 6-8 medium celery stalks under cold water. Trim off the ends and remove any strings that might be tough to chew.
  2. Dry the celery thoroughly with a kitchen towel to avoid sogginess when spreading the sunflower butter.
  3. Spread a generous layer of sunflower butter into the groove of each celery stalk using a butter knife or spoon.
  4. Place raisins evenly spaced along the sunflower butter layer, pressing lightly so they stick well.
  5. Optionally sprinkle cinnamon or chia seeds on top for extra flavor and crunch.
  6. Cut celery into 3-4 inch (7-10 cm) segments for easy handling if desired.
  7. Serve immediately or chill. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours.

Notes

Use firm, fresh celery for best crunch. Soak celery in ice water for 30 minutes if limp. Stir sunflower butter if oil separates. Soak dry raisins in warm water for 10 minutes before use. Prepare just before serving to keep celery crisp. Store leftovers covered in fridge up to 24 hours. Avoid freezing assembled snack as celery becomes mushy.
