Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless pork chops, about 1-inch thick
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¼ cup finely diced red onion (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Start with the chutney: In a small saucepan, combine diced apples, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, water, red onion (if using), cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat to low. Let it bubble gently for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are soft and liquid has thickened into a syrupy consistency. Set aside.
  2. Prep the pork chops: Pat pork chops dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Drizzle olive oil over chops, then rub seasoning mixture all over both sides.
  3. Preheat air fryer to 400°F for about 2 minutes.
  4. Cook pork chops: Place seasoned chops in air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 400°F for 6 minutes, then flip and cook for another 6-8 minutes until internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  5. Rest and serve: Let pork chops rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes. Spoon apple chutney over the top and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, pat pork chops dry before seasoning to ensure a crispy crust. Air fryer temperatures vary; check chops a few minutes early the first time. Chutney can be made up to 5 days ahead and reheated. If chutney is too runny, simmer uncovered for a minute or two; if too thick, add a splash of water.
