This Perfect Fall Caramel Apple Sangria is a quick and easy party drink that comes together in under 10 minutes. With simple ingredients like dry white wine, fresh apple cider, and caramel sauce, it’s a crowd-pleasing fall beverage that’s perfect for hosting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) dry white wine (Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio)
  • 2 cups fresh apple cider
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (such as Ghirardelli)
  • 1/4 cup apple brandy or Calvados (optional)
  • 1 large Honeycrisp apple, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1 large pear (Bosc or Anjou), thinly sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/2 cup fresh cranberries
  • Caramel sauce for drizzling (for glasses)
  • Ice cubes (or frozen apple cider cubes)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the caramel rim (optional): Pour a thin layer of caramel sauce onto a small plate. Dip the rim of each glass into the caramel, then gently twist to coat. Set aside.
  2. Slice the fruit: Core the apple and pear, then slice them into thin rounds or half-moons, about 1/8-inch thick.
  3. Combine the liquid ingredients in a large pitcher: Pour the entire bottle of white wine into the pitcher. Add the apple cider, caramel sauce, and apple brandy (if using). Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the caramel sauce is fully dissolved, about 30 seconds.
  4. Add the fruit and spices: Gently drop in the apple slices, pear slices, cinnamon sticks, and fresh cranberries. Stir once more to distribute evenly.
  5. Chill for at least 2 hours: Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate. For best results, chill overnight.
  6. Serve over ice: Fill caramel-rimmed glasses with ice cubes. Pour the sangria, making sure to include some fruit in each glass.
  7. Finish with a drizzle: Right before serving, drizzle a tiny bit of caramel sauce over the top of each glass.

Notes

Don’t skip the chilling time—flavors need at least 2 hours to meld. Use a dry white wine to balance the sweetness. Slice fruit thin for better absorption. The sangria tastes best on day 2. For a non-alcoholic version, replace wine with non-alcoholic white wine or sparkling white grape juice and omit brandy.
