This Quick Spooky Slime Punch for Kids is a fun, creamy, and citrusy Halloween drink that comes together in under 5 minutes. With lime sherbet and lemon-lime soda, it creates a spooky slime effect that kids love and adults enjoy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 liter lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7UP), well-chilled
  • 1 quart (about 4 cups) lime sherbet, slightly softened
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 4–5 limes)
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup (optional, for extra sweetness)
  • Green food coloring (optional, gel or liquid)
  • Ice cubes
  • For garnish: gummy worms, plastic spider rings, or fresh lime slices (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chill your soda and punch bowl or pitcher in the fridge for about an hour before serving.
  2. Roll each lime on the counter, cut in half, and juice to get 1/2 cup of juice. Strain out seeds and set aside.
  3. Take the lime sherbet out of the freezer and let it sit on the counter for 5-7 minutes to soften slightly.
  4. Pour the entire liter of chilled lemon-lime soda into the cold punch bowl or pitcher, pouring slowly down the side to preserve fizz.
  5. Stir in the fresh lime juice gently. Taste and add simple syrup if desired, 1 tablespoon at a time.
  6. If using, add 2-3 drops of green food coloring and stir gently.
  7. Scoop 4-6 large scoops of softened lime sherbet into the punch. Do not stir; let them float on top to create swirls as they melt.
  8. Gently add a handful of ice cubes and garnish with gummy worms, spider rings, or lime slices.
  9. Serve immediately with a ladle, making sure each cup gets some melty sherbet and garnish.

Notes

For the best slime effect, add sherbet right before serving and don’t stir. If the punch becomes thin, the sherbet was too melted. For a dairy-free version, use vegan lime sorbet. Leftovers can be frozen into popsicle molds.
