A quick and easy frozen mango chili margarita slushie with a perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy flavors. Ready in just 5 minutes, this icy cocktail is perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups ripe mango, peeled and chopped (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 ounces tequila blanco (100% agave recommended)
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice (about one medium lime)
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder (mild or chipotle for smoky twist)
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar or honey (optional)
  • 1 to 1 ½ cups ice cubes
  • Pinch of salt (for rimming glass or adding to blender)

Instructions

  1. Prep the glass by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into salt or a salt-chili mix. Set aside.
  2. Add 1 ½ cups chopped ripe mango to the blender (no need to thaw if frozen).
  3. Pour in 2 ounces tequila blanco and 1 ounce fresh lime juice. Add ¼ teaspoon chili powder and 1 tablespoon agave nectar if desired. Add a pinch of salt if using.
  4. Add 1 to 1 ½ cups ice cubes, starting with 1 cup and adding more for desired thickness.
  5. Pulse blend on high until smooth and slushie-like, thick but pourable. Add more ice if needed and blend again.
  6. Taste and adjust by adding more lime juice or chili powder if desired, then blend briefly.
  7. Pour into prepared glass and garnish with a lime wedge or sprinkle of chili powder. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use ripe mango for best flavor; frozen mango works well and keeps the drink icy cold. Adjust chili powder to taste for desired heat level. For a creamier version, add a splash of coconut milk. Non-alcoholic version can be made by omitting tequila and adding sparkling water or orange juice.
