A fun and festive Halloween snack board featuring crunchy veggie ‘witches’ fingers,’ salty pretzels, and a creamy dill ranch dip. It’s quick to assemble, packed with wholesome ingredients, and perfect for parties or family movie nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or 2%)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped (optional)
  • 4–5 large carrots, peeled and cut into 3-inch sticks
  • 2 large English cucumbers, cut into 3-inch sticks
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
  • 1 cup snap peas or snow peas
  • 2 cups mini pretzels
  • 1 cup cheese cubes or small cheese wedges (cheddar, Gouda, or provolone)
  • Optional: black olives or black beans for spooky eyes

Instructions

  1. Make the dip: In a small mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, lemon juice, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning. Stir in fresh chives if using. Cover and refrigerate while prepping the rest.
  2. Prepare the ‘Witches’ Fingers’: Cut peeled carrots into 3-inch long sticks, about the width of a little finger. Do the same with the cucumbers. For extra spookiness, carve a small ‘knuckle’ indent on the carrot sticks.
  3. Prep the other veggies: Slice red bell pepper into long, thin strips. Rinse snap peas.
  4. Arrange the board: Place two small bowls of dip on a large cutting board or serving platter, slightly off-center. Scatter carrot and cucumber sticks in small, scattered piles to resemble severed fingers.
  5. Fill in the gaps: Add pretzels, cheese cubes, red pepper strips, and snap peas around the dip bowls and ‘fingers.’ Create little nests of pretzels and cheese for an abundant look.
  6. Add spooky eyes (optional): Place a few black olives or black beans on the board for a creepy touch. You can stick two small black beans on a piece of cheese to look like a monster face.
  7. Serve immediately: Bring the board to the table and enjoy. The dip should be cold and creamy, the veggies crisp, and the pretzels salty.

Notes

For the best ‘fingers,’ cut veggies into thick, sturdy sticks (about the width of a finger) to prevent wilting. The dip can be made up to 2 days ahead and tastes even better the next day. Assemble the board up to an hour before serving, but add pretzels just before serving to keep them crunchy. For a dairy-free version, use plant-based yogurt and vegan mayonnaise. For gluten-free, use gluten-free pretzels.
